Mayor Booker Hailed as Hero in Fire Rescue | NBC New York

Newark Mayor Cory Booker was treated and released from a hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and second-degree burns on his hands when he rescued his neighbor from a fire at her home Thursday night.

So after reading that story I became a little more interested and wanted to find out his background. Turns out his resume is quite impressive and I have to respect a man that will give everything for what he believes. Now I may not agree with all of his politics (saw some I would definitely disagree with) but he is truly making a difference for the people that elected him.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone but that makes me proud to see a well educated fellow AA has his head screwed on right and is making a positive strides in the AA community. I hope young black kids see this and think "hey is all right to be a well educated black man making a good name". But sad to say, in the AA community it's like crabs in a barrel...... I hope Mayor Booker can change that mentality.

Saw a bit on the news, during the last blizzard, he was out helping people dig their cars out of the snow. Definitely a stand-up guy.

I get your point and agree but I believe all people could benefit from acting in this manner.
