I was pleased to see the TE catch the ball more than three yards down field this week, but which Cottam was it? Was it the older one or the young one?

It was Brad Cottam; 3 catches for 24 yards, the longest being the 14 yard play.

I'm glad to see our tight end getting involved, too. The one thing I've been surprised about Cut this year is the tight end. He's usually a big fan of using the tight in the passing game, but we havn't seen it much this year. I think our tight ends lack the extra speed to get down the field, and the fact that we have 3 excellent wide recievers might be a reason why.

He had one catch of about 25 yards that would of been reviewed, but there was a flag on the play. Initally was ruled out of bounds, but would of been ruled a catch if not for the flag.

Yes, the announcers gave him a hard time for not knowing where the sidelines were, but he did a good job of staying inbounds. Unfortunately, there was a flag against Tennessee.

the TE will continue to be a feature of the UT offense so long as we continue to struggle running the ball. as will the hb screens...which i loved against USC early on. really backed the pressure off once we proved that would work.

The most amazing thing about the Vol offense this year is that they haven't found a TE or FB that can produce and have still managed to lead the SEC in offense.

The lack of a good FB is probably the thing hindering the run game the most.

Yep, his little brother Jeff is a freshman from Germantown High School (as is Brad) here in Memphis.

I do wish Brad and Chris would be a little more involved in the passing game.
