Is that why he hasn't accepted a DC job yet? Or is he just trying to get all he can from Auburn or SC?

Probably some of both.

I'm sure he'd like to see if a HC job offer is a possibility, as well.

But there's no reason for him to rush if he's this desired as a DC either.

Smart guy by waiting, shakeout isn't done yet either. I would tend to avoid both Auburn or TAM, now going with Spurrier isn't a bad idea or unknown other options that will become available.

Why would you avoid Auburn?

Why would you avoid Auburn?

Same reason as TAM, the only thing you have to practice against is the offense, as least in Auburn's case they have somewhat of a power running game at times. I would avoid TAM like the plague if I were a defensive coordinator.

I think those defenses are more a reflection of the offenses they run than anything else.

My advice to TAM and Auburn if they continue to run those offenses.... you better score bunches of points, you are going to need them.

Is this being rumored?

I remember first reading the rumor the day he was fired, especially after Spurrier said nice things about him. It makes a lot of sense --SC needs a new DC, Spurrier likes Muschamp, he has to hang it up some day, etc.

Name is emerging as a candidate for Houston HC.
Would he have a higher salary as the head coach at Houston, or some mid major, or as a DC at a top school? I imagine head coaching salaries at most mid majors would be very comparable to the salaries of the very top paid coordinators. Tony Levine made something like 900k as Houstons coach last year. I dont have time to look up top paid coordinators, but I know Jancek makes like 480k, and I'm sure he's no where near the top salary wise.

Twitter chatter of Muschamp to Houston

Word is he was one of the top targets( Bo Pelini). They want a big name coach to recruit vs the Big 3 instate. UH was losing players to BU and TCU. Their Admin are trying make run at Big 12 invite on 3 yrs when Conference has a new tv deal.
