Apparently he thinks SEC East games are non-conference games.

MILES' TITLE FORMULA: LSU coach Les Miles brought up an interesting argument about how the SEC divisional champions are crowned.

"I still want to figure out how in the West we have one loss and Arkansas has one in the West, and we beat them and we're not the West champions," he said.

Against West teams, LSU finished 4-1 and Arkansas finished 4-1. LSU would then win the tiebreaker because it beat Arkansas. Unfortunately, that's not how it's done. Against the entire SEC schedule, LSU finished 6-2 and Arkansas 7-1. But Arkansas did not have to play Florida. The teams on Arkansas' schedule that LSU did not play were South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The teams on LSU's schedule that Arkansas did not play were Kentucky and FLORIDA.

"I don't think Arkansas played Florida," Miles said sarcastically. "Did they play Florida?"

Miles also figured a way LSU should have won the overall SEC title last year. The Tigers finished 7-1 in the SEC and won the tiebreaker over 7-1 Auburn because it beat Auburn. SEC East champion Georgia finished 6-2.

"We would've won it last year without the SEC championship game," he said. "They ought to drop the championship game."

Georgia ripped LSU 34-14 in the SEC championship game last season.

I guess he forgot that Auburn also only has one loss in the West and they beat LSU!

Im sure he's happy since he's going to the Rose Bowl against Mich. Must be nice to be in a BCS bowl and play in a game that matters on a national scale....when's the last time we did that?

Can't we at least make fun of the idiocy of opposing coaches without getting into this? :whatever:

Don't worry guys. It appears that Miles' biggest objection is that Arkansas hasn't played Florida. Problem solved this weekend!

There sure are a lot of whiney coaches these days.

The next thing you know Les Miles will be wanting to get his team SEC West championship rings. :devilsmoke:

Les Miles is an a$$clown.

He reminds me of a second-tier milquetoast actor trying to be a tough football coach...

Kind of a John Tesh or Corbin Bernsen... maybe even Lorenzo Lamas, except with a WAY bigger hat.

I guess all those years in the Big 12 conference didn't help him figure out the way that the division champions are crowned since his team was never in contention.

The moment he came out with the Madonna headset I knew I would have fun with him until he got fired.

He belongs in the delusionally arrogant crowd that create their own illusion of reality and then are arrogant about their own created significance.

Someone else near and dear to a lot of us has been guilty of that same thing.

while i agree that Miles is a pillow biter, I have to point out that he somehow manages to attract tons of talent to Baton Rouge and like it or not, LSU will be playing Mich in what will be a huge game. Wait and see if this Rose Bowl doesnt get hyped close to the Natl Champ game.

The talent on the field the last two years -- and the staff that coached them -- is basically Nick Saban coaching "from the grave", so to speak. Put it this way: Barry Switzer = Les Miles. He walked into a program that was a loaded gun.

Right now, Les Miles is a place holder. Once he has his own regime -- and he's about to lose Fisher and Pelini -- we'll see what he's got.

Their loss to AUB was pathetic.

I just wish somebody could explain to me how they keep attracting top qb talent. They have a logjam at they position and have another bluechipper committed for this year.

Who's the biggest whiner Les Miles, or Urban Meyer?

They're definitely both world class whiners, but at least Urban Meyer is whining that his team should be selected over another team with the same number of losses. Miles apparently thinks that his team's losses shouldn't count at all.

Meyer has only whined about the lack of a fair system. Who's to say he's wrong?

Does USC have a better schedule of wins than FL? I think it's fairly close. I'd put MICH behind both of them based off on field wins.

The question is, is it perceived as whining because the "consensus" is that USC or MICH are better (because more opinion says so)?
