Could someone update me on the Chris Jones situation...

Not 100% sure but I think he has grade issues and isn't going to qualify to play Div 1. And there was something about him following Forbes to Northwest Florida.

Wasn't Ware declared inelgible at some time as well? I don't think Jones would of fit Martin's system too well. I wish him good luck but oh well....

He is on the roster at Northwest FLorida playing for Forbes. It all comes down to academics and whether he develops into a Coach Zo type player. Otherwise he may be headed back to Tiger High or somewhere else.

He's a very good player and we could really use him. If by some miracle, he does qualify academically, getting Jones on board could be major. There's a couple of Melrose players were looking at it so that would only help.

Someone (I think it was Rob Lewis) said that our coaches weren't contacting him very much, if at all.

Unless it is a reflection of that state of his grade issues, then I hate to hear that. He is a huge talent. Size does not matter. He has the quickness and attitude to thrive on the defensive end of the floor under CM.

Forbes down in that Florida JC is probably only going to be a 1 year deal (enough time for his show cause to fade away). Memphis currently has Luke Walton as an assistant who will most likely transition back to the NBA once the lockout is over as some sort of an assistant there. There was some smoke last year about Forbes and Memphis possibly having some mutual interest in one another, so if he goes there you could probably expect Jones to possibly follow Forbes to either Memphis or wherever else Steve could end up.

I've heard the same thing. Just a possibility though.
