With how almost every Texas school is at there peak could Texas get enough top recruits to compete for a championship ??

I personally believe that UTjr has almost no chance of winning another championship as long as TCU , Baylor and Texas AM are all great . And I would also say Texas AM will become the university of Texas in a few years

In the long run, Texas will out-muscle Baylor and TCU. Neither of those programs have the history or the staying power to compete with Texas long term.

Now, you can make a convincing case that aTm will ascend the throne of Texas football from here on out. Unlike the other schools, it has the history, brand, and resources (all three) to compete with Texas. And I don't think there's been a school in history that has benefited more from a conference switch than aTm. The move to the SEC was phenomenal for them. I think aTm is here for the long stay, but Texas will be back. There's no keeping Texas down forever.

TCU and Baylor have very good coaches right now. If they leave, my guess is that they would become mediocre very quickly. A&M has the resources to be good for a long time.

Texas definitely will be back in the national picture sometime in the next 5-10 years. Virtually infinite resources, huge fan base, and a great recruiting base.

TAM going to the sec killed Texas
They just don't have the juniors days from years past where kids auto commit on the spot.
With the emergence of tCU and Baylor that just adds to it.
Until Texas gets a consistent pulse every Saturday and stability I don't expect them to return to what they once were.

That's my opinion also . When Texas was at there peak they could just cherry pick any kid for the state . Now they will be battling TCU,Baylor , and aTm for nearly every kid .

If I was a Texas kid there is no way I would go to Texas over them 3 . Also the fact I could play in Texas . Be in a 100,000 seat stadium and play in the SEC . Why wouldn't I go to aTm
