Just wondering how the fanbase, staff, and players are dealing with the media circus surrounding OU's "Peyton Manning" yesterday and today? AP has to marquis OU alum in the league.

Just wondering (hoping) if everyone out in Norman is abuzz concerning AP and maybe ignoring that "little" SEC team coming out to play today? I know if this were PM, it would create some shockwaves around here.

Here's hoping for any advantage.

If all AP did was whoop his kid with a switch, then this is downright stupid. My parents would've been locked away under the prison. I'm thankful for it today though.

I agree

Total BS. Hell, I had to pick out my switch and if it wasn't right, I got more for bringing a wimpy switch

If you've actually read anything it seems pretty clear that this was a little more than the whooping most of us got when we were kids...

He had cuts and bruises on his ankles, legs, back, and butt. The kid was 4. This isnt a 7-10 year old...

My grandpa kept a leather barber strap on the wall to threaten us with, but he had to actually use it on my cousins. They still turned out bad though. LOL

My father was 6'4" and had big hands so it didn't take much convincing from him to act right. None of that "talking it through and bargaining" BS like you see now a days.

Abuse of a small child is uncalled for though and shouldnt be tolerated

Yeah they new if they sent me to get a switch it was going to be a blade of grass. That was just insult to injury to have to get your own switch. Now days it appears you are not supposed to discipline your children, hence a lot of problems with societies kids.

There are other ways of disciplining besides beating your 4yo with a tree branch until their whole body is bleeding..

Listen to how ignorant you sound.

I would advise all of you saying that this is BS to go look at the pics that are out there of this little boy, this isn't your normal butt whipping that we are familiar with in the south.. this was flat out child abuse.
I would say its BS that a 4 yr old had to go through this.

You know da nobody said anything about beating anyone until they bleed. I may have gotten a switch from time to time, but no one ever made me bleed. Overreact much.

What stood out to me the most from the pictures were the numbers of "strikes" this child endured. It appears that this was out of anger/frustration...not so much from teaching/correcting.

AP's child had some blood break through the skin. I believe that was K-town Vol Fan's point. That what you received was correcting, AP's child received abuse.

If it's that bad then he needs to be punished. I was only talking about my butt whippings. They were never brutal, just attitude adjustments.

I got you, I figured it was media overreacting. As I said if there were welts and/or blood yeah AP needs to answer for that.
