Wow. I've got to be honest: even with a ranked team and Kentucky out of the top-25, going into Rupp, I wasn't REAL confident we'd come out with a win tonight. Despite the environment (and BE SURE that the 'Cats weren't overlooking us, by now), despite being on the road, despite maybe being due for an "off night," and despite the home-cooked officiating. . . .we won, really, in convincing fashion.

If you didn't know it before, it's obvious now: this team is FOR REAL. From picked at the back of the SEC, from hoping maybe for an NIT or low-seed NCAA wishful-thinking. . . .to looking forward to an SEC-tourney run and maybe even a 2- or 3-seed at the dance: IT'S TIME TO RECOGNIZE!!!!

GO VOLS.

This was my 1st chance to see them play all year and that was one helluva game to start out with! They all seemed so calm I don't remember a UT men's B-ball team being that composed. I was really impressed with what the announcers said about Pearl staying in K-town to run and workout with the team and how he punished Lofton for being late for a meeting without worrying about the "player" ecause he's building a "program".

How about them VOLS? With an 8-1 record in the SEC,wouldn't it be nice to finish at least 13-3 or 14-2? 17-3 overall. I foresee at least 27 wins and could be 30 if they go deep in the NCAA tourney. That means at least 5 more wins in the SEC before SEC tourney time-3 wins there (which would mean maybe winning it) and 3 wins in the NCAA. 33 would mean a TITLE!
Hmmm? How far can the Vols go? I think at least the NCAA semi's. Is that wishing too much? It's a tough tournament/pairings.

It really says a lot for the type of man that Lofton is. I had never heard that story... Pearl's second day on campus he makes Chris run laps early in the morning for missing a study session, and that's what made Chris decide to STAY at UT... knowing this man was FOR REAL as a coach. Awesome story.

I'm seriously thinking top 10....
Still gotta win at Athens on Saturday. Any Vols in GA, or Chatty, PLEASE try and make the trip and be a "witness" !!!

If so, the AP may bump us into the top 10, not the coaches.

I'll be in Athens. Things could change, but it appears that I'll be at graduate business school at UGA or UF next year. Back in December, I conveniently decided that this would be a good weekend to visit Athens again and bought a ticket (orange will not come out until the game). UF offered me a ticket to the UT game there of all things. I think I will wear my gameday gear on the flight down but will then take it off, since they are taking me in. I am lucky to get to see so many games this year. This season has been so incredible, I almost want to cry. Hats off to all Vol fans who are attending the games, watching the games on tv, listening on the radio/Internet, or just following the game threads here. We have another winning team at UT! Go Vols everybody! I probably will not be able to get to TBA much for a while after this year, so I am enjoying it now. I am especially enjoying my last three plus months in Lexington, KY. GO VOLS!

I am seriously going to try and go. I would probably come back to Atlanta to spend the night on Saturday.

I'd love to go but I'm afraid that's just not possible.
