Obviously there's a lot games left in the season. And the BCS formula has been bailed out numerous times in the past with late season upsets. But I got to thinking if Oregon and Florida State both win out, could the difference in an 8-4 Tennessee team and a 5-7 one affect Oregon's strength of schedule enough to make or break its title game appearance chances?

Interesting thought, but I'd say not quite. If FSU keeps tearing through the ACC like it has so far, I can't imagine Oregon making the leap. FSU has been a steamroller to this point.

The Ducks will pass them this weekend if they beat UCLA.

I disagree. Don't get me wrong though, I'd much rather see Oregon in the national title game. Living in FSU/UF land I'm already annoyed by the Nole fans on a weekly basis. The last thing I need to hear is them spouting off more about being better than the SEC/winning a national title. However, FSU completely dismantled a pretty complete Clemson team. Clemson > UCLA, but again that's just my opinion.

Florida could have a similar impact on Florida State's chances. Florida seems to be in a death spiral. I'm loving it.
