Great list and agreed, so many you can't list them all. I would say I personally didn't care for
The Thin Red Line or
Hamburger Hill.

I know it's not a movie, but I have to add, Band of Brothers.

Hamburger Hill was one of my favorites. One, because it was pretty much how the real battle went. Two, because my father was in the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam, so Im partial to movies concerning the Vietnam War.

My least favorite movie about Vietnam was We Were Soldiers. Historically, that movie was terrible, especially the ending. In the real battle, they didnt storm the hill and win the battle by catching the NVA off guard while drinking tea and eating rice.

Very little in the way of action and battle scenes, but Joyeux Noel is a very good movie.

I've also heard that "A Midnight Clear" is a pretty good movie too.

If you've never seen "Miracle at St. Anna", it is definitely worth a rental.

I liked We Were Soldiers, though you are correct in that Mel Gibson is a master of butching history in th name of entertainment.

Yes, that was a great movie. It was a somewhat true account of Vasily Zaytsevs exploits at Stalingrad.

I hated that movie. It had a turgid romance, terrible depiction of the events surrounding the Battle of Stalingrad (taking Soviet propaganda as truth) and, plus, I didn't know Cockney accents permeated the Red Army in the 40s. It's right there, as a movie, with U-571.

Stalingrad (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is far better not only as an account of the Battle of Stalingrad and surrounding events... but overall as a film.
