In case any of our signees don't make it in here are some still unsigned names from the JUCO ranks;

Terry Vaughn, DT, 4* Scout.com
Ht: 6'2, Wt: 285, 40: 5.0

Marty Everett, DT, 3* Scout.com
Ht: 6'4, Wt: 295, 40: 5.0

Julius Harris, S, 3* Scout.com
Ht: 6'4, Wt: 210, 40: 4.45

Dontrell Johnson, CB, 3* Scout.com
Ht: 5'11, Wt: 175, 40: 4.40

Elliot Williams, OT, 4* Scout.com
Ht: 6'6, Wt: 280

Justin Green, OG, 3* Scout.com
Ht: 6'4, Wt: 298

I wonder if we will take a look at some of these guys if some of our guys don't make it in. I'd love to add a 4* OT and DT at this stage of the game.

There is usually a reason that a 4* JUCO kid isn't on a team somewhere. Typically related to grades which is the issue that is in question to begin with. Good job on the research, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I asked hubbs the other day about juco guys as possible replacements and he said No

Something tells me if they are 4* and still available, they may be busts. JMO, but if the coaches dont see anything but the star ranking out of them, i will trust their judgement. We may be at the point that we have to settle though.

I would almost guarantee that they do not have the extra math class to even be considered to come to the SEC. Jmo

Bet you're right. I wish the SEC would do away with that rule. It would make it's schools even that much more dominate.

I think we're really screwed this year but maybe some of our young recruits can get some playing experience and maybe benefit us well the following year.

I think we should prepare ourselves that at DT and S especially, there are legitimate opportunities for a walk-on player to *play* some this season. Not necessarily start, but in some capacity in the rotation.

Math is getting crazy. Eligibility for Division I requires you to have 2 higher level maths. In most cases that means they must take Algebra II. Starting with all rising sophomores in North Carolina who are college prep are required to take Advanced Functions. This is getting a little out of hand. Another thing I think the NCAA should look at is the grading scale. Kids who come out of some states get an 80 and it is a B and in others it is a C. Same grade but totally different GPA.

I haven't seen this name mentioned here - Shaun Simon.

He's a JUCO Center who will graduate in December. Originally committed to Colorado, had to go JUCO, then recommitted to Colorado in 2009.

Also has interest from 3 other schools - Tennessee, Ok St, and Arkanasas. He's waiting to see how the Hawkins situation shakes out and if he decides to go anywhere besides Colorado, he's currently most interested in Tennessee.

"It all depends on how that coaching situation goes," Simon told Kyle Ringo of the Boulder Daily Camera. "I keep hearing about different coaching changes and whatever. As of right now, I'm still committed to Colorado, but I'm still in contact with other schools."

Simon, an Oklahoma native, was given no stars by Scouts, Inc., in 2009, but the list of schools interested in his services is an impressive one. Simon said that Tennessee, Oklahoma State and Arkansas continue to recruit him, with the Vols (there's Derek Dooley cropping up in strange places again) his favorite among those three.

If that's the case, then it's a pretty safe bet that we'll be seeing Simon in Knoxville after he earns his associates degree in December.

this is from ESPN Insider CFB rumors page, so TIFWIW.

Well looking at his Scout page the NCAA took too long to clear him to play at Colorado, then he showed up to JUCO late and redshirted in 09. He'll play this year for his JC and will have three years to play. I wonder why CDD is recruiting, we will still have Gooch who will be a junior when he get's on campus. Maybe CDD might be interested in converting him to a guard or something?

Thanks for your response Burhead. Yeah I was wondering the same thing considering we have Gooch.
