In-laws came to town yesterday so I had to DVR 50% of the game. While we were out my willpower to not look at my phone was weak causing me to check it a few times. I knew the ending before getting to watch it in full.

However, when we got home and started watching the second half the resolve and determination I witnessed was remarkable. Living away now; games like this one bring back sooo many memories of growing up in East TN, going to games, and just what that fall feeling in and around Neyland is all about. Thank you Butch Jones and #117 for keeping that alive.

Next, my wife is a native Texan, however she has never been a big football fan, really kept up with season progress, or consecutive seasons of one team. Well, I am a fiend, so she now knows a lot about the Vols. As the clock ticked under two minutes, perhaps the 1:30 mark she sat up saying "are they going to win with this little time left?!". I refrained from saying anything. Then when Lane got that last first down she says, "I can not believe this". When Palardy kicked the winner, the final quote was "Tennessee of the last few years would have screwed that up somehow."

Very telling In my opinion. Y'all rednecks have an awesome day (first and last time).

Yeah my wife isn't a big football fan and usually stays in tune with UT bc of me. I was eating at Buffalo Wild Wings and watched Georgia steal the overtime victory, and as the clock struck zero, my wife texted me "they played a good game" (talking about the vols)

Yesterday I was at home as UT won the game. My wife was out running errands and as the clock hit zero, she texted me "finally".
She actually was listening to the game on radio. I was impressed.

I could never DVR games because my wife would be too telling when I got home from work...Either
A: Vols Lose: She retreats to the bedroom and says, "see u in the morning"
or
B: Vols Win: She meets meet at the door with a cold beer and a sammich

My wife has never really kept up with sports either. Now she has been to 5 UT games and watches the games with me. She was actually louder than me during the Georgia game. I recorded the SC game because I had to work. She sat with me and watched the whole game last night when I got home. Although I had to explain the difference between a fumble and a turnover to her last night. She is learning though.

It is nice seeing the program on what I feel is a true upward trajectory. The last few years I just forced myself to believe it was happening.
