Court strikes racial diversity school programs

Personally I think it was a good ruling and Kennedy kept it from completely removing race as a factor.

It was always odd to me that the 14th amendment could be virtually ignored if there was a suggestion doing so would increase diversity. As the courts ruled, race is a blunt instrument and the schools should use more precise factors (e.g. socio-economic status) rather than assuming homogeneity within race and heterogeneity between races (on anything other than race itself).

This will open up all sorts of suits and appeals. Racial diversity has all sorts of ties to education. I don't see this taking any effect for years. It will take that long to peel back what's been piled on.
