I mean a new trial is already being ordered. This isn't over by any means. I think Jesse ultimately suing Kyle's estate (and thus Kyle's wife) was a ****ty thing to do. Sue the publishing house you dimwitted old meat bag.

Personally never really cared for Killer Kyle (or Marcus Latrell for that matter). They got famous off stories that no one can accurately fact check. I know Kyle claimed to snipe "looters" from the top of the Super Dome in the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina. That was false. He claimed to kill two guys who allegedly tried to steal his truck at a gas station. Also false. Then he claimed to have punched Jesse Ventura which again was false. Believe he also exaggerated how many medals he was awarded too. Just lie after lie to sell his book that was filled with nothing but patriotic and religious fluff.

Crazy how despite all that he got a funeral fit for a King. I mean the guy literally LOVED killing people (go read some direct quotes, the guy was a true sociopath with zero remorse for killing dozens and dozens people). It saddens me that such a scummy character is considered an "American Hero".

I am not going to comment on his character, but as far as the litigation, the suit had already been filed before Kyle's death. Ventura didn't sue his estate. The estate is then substituted in and becomes the new defendant after death. I believe Ventura sued the publisher after the initial verdict against Kyle. Also, the suit is filed against the person or company, and then the insurance carrier gets involved with hiring an attorney and handling the case.

I would love to watch a spirited debate between you and Marcus Luttrell.
