I just watched the Post Game Presser and he did say our D mostly practices against the scout team. This is so sad. We obviously need to learn how to stop a real offense, and we have one on our team, so why aren't we going up against each other non-stop in practice? Is it just so the D doesn't realize how bad they suck until game day? It just seems crazy to me that our D is so terrible and we aren't pushing our players to learn to stop a real offense in practice.

AJ McCarron said after the lsu game last night that they practice vs their first team defense. Just sayin

He is full of it.........every major football team practice vs Scout team

This isnt preseason anymore........

The problem isnt that we practice vs a scout team

The problem is we have a grad asst. coaching our DB

The dude is like 5'7 150 pounds and is white.......

what would he know about being a DB

CP almost always plays an amazing game. JH has his moments and still dropped a sure TD catch on the first play. That is the sort of drop that could have cost us this game and probably would have cost us a game against an SEC team. JH did redeem himself by making some big plays on crossing patterns late in the game. Overall, CP is the man! We haven't had a play maker like him in a loooooong time.

I love how so many people in this topic have no clue how football works to know that 1st Offense and 1st defense nearly always go against 2nd team defenses/offenses/scout teams. It's no wonder we see so many idiotic statements before, during, and after games, its because half the people have no clue how the sport even works on the high school level.

He will be a Heisman candidate next year. He can affect a game by rushing, receiving, and special teams. His debut against Oregon will gain national attention, and will get the ball rolling. Thoughts?

I think it depends on who the coach is next year (hopefully Gruden) if he stays or goes...JMO.

Is it just me or is it not completely normal for you to play against a scout team? The whole point of it is that they are there to mimic the upcoming opponent's offense or defense. Practicing against a pro-style offense for 4 days to play against a spread offense on Saturday is far more ridiculous than practicing against a scout team.

I know how football works...and our Defense sucks at it. We need to practice against something other than our scout team if this is the results we are seeing on the field, that's all I'm saying.

I'm not sure who you're talking about coaching our DB's.

We actually have two coaches in the secondary. Ansley coaches DB's & Conklin coaches saftey's.

Also wtf does being white have to do with coaching DB's? Nick Saban was/is a DB coach & he seems to do pretty well. Smh
