What quote? I see nothing interesting its just what everybody thought was the reason for him leaving.....

That didn't sound great from CP. He had to get out of there?

If I was his age and saw how much uncertainity was around I probably would've done the same. I really wish we could've capitolized on him, but at the same time; I can't blame him for going professional.

I wish him all the best, along with Bray, Hunter, and Rogers, and MR.

IMO CP saw the system, scheme, and operations changes and wanted no part in it because of what he would have to learn and do. That is even if he had his academics in order. Just easier to say what he said and let it go.

No body can blame him for leaving, new coach, new system to learn, risk a year of injury, and he's a top ten pick. Everyone else would make the same decision.

CP is one of my favorite vols of all time but this quote makes me a bit jammed up. Things were starting to get crazy? I mean if you say that you kind of have to give some sort of explanation (maybe say with the new offense and everything). Just from the standpoint that it makes our program look even more in shambles. I might have said I just realized that this was the best time for me to pursue my dream and it was a very tough decision bc I still love TN. But maybe I'm reading too much into

Maybe cp and bray were told one thing about getting a new coach n something totally diff happened so he views that as issues thus saying what he did..

We will never know what the players were being told good or bad.

Its just vol fans want to believe everything is ok with the football program n that just may not be true..esp will jg departure recently.

I got the impression that some of the players last year, who are currently at the combine, were not the most dedicated, hardest workers on the team. I have a feeling that if one is not dedicated and a hard worker next year, he may be "riding the pine." This could have been a factor in the decisions of some of our players.

CP could've gone anywhere he wanted to play his college ball. I'm just glad that he chose to play with us. Being the #1 player in your position taken in the draft and believing in your abilities to live up to the hype is definetly hard to turn down. I wish him the best as well as all our vols at the next level and I hope that they continue to represent UT.

I feel like Patterson already had his mind made up when Dooley was fired. My guess is he was going pro no matter what Butch said to him. I wouldn't read too much into that quote.

He also saw he money, cars and the hot ladies that would lining up after practice and games..

I still don't understand why david ricky left. To my knowledge he wasn't kicked off the team, but left because he didn't want to be suspended a game or two. Then he "says" he passed 10 drug tests at TT and couldn't pass one here. I know I'm beating the dead horse here and it doesn't matter for **** but I still am lost on that one.

Anyway hope the kid has a successful career go vols

From his stand point, that was better to say that I wouldn't have qualified academically.

THis, but he could have just as easily said, "I didn't wnat to take a chance of injury and ruin my opportunity to play on Sundays."

But he also probably didn't want anyone to question his dedication. He can blame the changes in the program instead of the dollar signs in his eyes, and move on.

It's whatever, as long as when he is balling in the next few years, he stays proud to be a Vol.

This is what I'm thinking and the getting crazy part was probably when the new staff was trying to talk him nto staying and telling him all he would have to do to become eligible again.
Like wow these coaches want me to go to class, do homework, and ace the spring and summer semesters. Dooley never asked me to do that, things are getting a little crazy I better get out of here and fast. LOL

Still very possible that DaRicky has the best NFL career out of all of them. I actually believe this will be the case.
