Crazy carry numbers by seasons end for Lattimore

He touched it 17 times today, iirc. Teams are going to load the box and force Garcia to beat them. His carries will likely go down.

I have no idea why some of the RBs want that many carries, and why a coach would wear them down so early in their career. I actually said this last year when Spurrier was running Lattimore the way he was as a Freshman.

Marcus Lattimore's Touch Totals Spell Doom for His NFL Career | Bleacher Report

It states that he will have 312 carries by the end of the sesaon if he continues his workload. Will it really doom his career in the NFL though? I mean the odds he comes out early are good, and I maybe mistaken but arent NFL Rbs careers usually average only 3-5 years anyway? just curious

No question, Lattimore will make it to the NFL but how effective will he be. Remember Ki-Jana Carter, who was a highly talented college running back that helped to carry the Penn State Nittany Lions to undefeated mark in 1994 and was a Heisman trophy runner up. He leaves school early, becomes the number one pick by the Cincinnati Bengals only to blow a knee and ruin his NFL career.

Another player to think about is Kevin Smith of Central Florida. In 2007, he led the nation in rushing with 2,567 yards and 29 touchdowns. During his junior campaign, Smith set a major college record of 450 rushing attempts. Fast forward to now and he is a forgotten man.

That is there defense? Ki-Jana Carter? What did Carter's workload at Penn State have to do with him blowing out his knee in Cincy? What does Kevin Smith have to do with this? Really? Is this the best they could do?

Supporting arguments were weak, but there's validity in the topic.

If he doesn't eliminate the pick he won't be in there to beat anyone.

I think SS could stomach some incomplete passes here and there. Interceptions get you beat, and he knows it.

I wonder if Garcia's playing with an injury or something.

He's always been prone to making one or two critical mistakes, but found a way to balance it with some big throws and gutsy runs. He always gave Spurrier just enough reason to stick with him, despite his errors.

This year though, he's just bad.
