Yes. It is a crazy stat, and to punt 3 times in 3 SEC games is incredible, Let's put it break each one down and see if it's a good representation of how the game went...
FL game: 0 punts
0-2 on 4th down (could have been 2 FGA)
2 fumbles lost (in FG range on both)
Result = truly no punts needed
LSU game: 2 punts
3-3 on 4th down (could have been 2 FGA and 1 ended in a punt after successfully converting on 4th down earlier in drive)
no turnovers
Result = Only 2 punts truly needed
AL game: 1 punt
0-2 on fourth down (1 in FG range, 1 punt needed)
1 fumble and 1 interception (no way to know if punts would have been needed, but possibly)
Result = 2 punts possible
I can really only see one instance where we could have punted that would have made sense. All of our 4th down attempts and turnovers (except the 2 in the AL game) have all been inside what I would consider normal field goal range. So even if we punted that one time, and the possesions with turnover against AL had been drives that ended in punts, that would still only be a total of 6 punts over 3 games. And that woulb be amazing in comparison to 2019 LSWho.
