OK, so I know this is the new age of keeping up with information real-time and that most of these recruits have Facebook so it can be a source of good info every once in a while. BUT, all of you creepy stalker fans really need to take it down a notch.

So maybe you send a kid a friend request so you can keep up with their status updates, kind of weird and not my style, but to each their own that isn't too bad. But guys who comment on recruits walls constantly, comment on their status, etc. are just weird. One guy (I won't mention a name to protect the innocent) posts on the walls, statuses, pictures, etc. of recruits (most notably Alan Posey's) just about 3 times a day. On top of that the guy KIND OF looks like a pedophile so it has to creep out the recruits because hell it creeps me out.

So bottom line, follow the kids on Facebook to keep up with information if you must, but don't be a creepy stalker type guy.

Is writing a borderline homo-erotic love letter to a player acceptable?

I mean.. it's part-and-parcel like in the old days. Pretty romantic.

Only if it's in good taste, it also helps if you spray a little perfume on it.

The sad thing is, these people really believe they're going to make a difference in a kid's recruitment by posting junk on their wall.

Befriend them, look at their profile, read their status updates - whatever...that's really not much different than looking at their rivals/scout page. Just don't write on their damn wall IMO.

Agreed. And homo-erotic love letters are still acceptable as long as they are properly scented and written with some level of taste (but not too tasteful it takes away from the message).

I love recruiting, but I haven't ever friended one recruit.

You and me both. I think it's kinda odd personally. Like the OP said, it's ok to see their updates and such, but don't post crap on their walls... It makes you and the fanbase look bad imo.

I totally agree but for you to know all of the above in such detail....you have to be on these guys pages yourself!

Addicts offend console themselves by passing the blame and pointing fingers...just sayin

Let me prefice this by saying I don't own a FB page, so obviously it's not my bag of tea, but a couple things:

1) Since when was facebook this ultimate personal thing for others not to look at? Pretty sure it's the complete opposite

2) Don't become friends with people you don't know!

3) There are multiple accessibility and firewall protections they can put up to keep people from seeing their "private" information

4) If you put something on the internet, expect people to find it. Just how it is.

5) These athletes know what's going on, this isn't some creepy thing they are just realizing.

Wow, I am really upset with the responses to this....come on now guys... This is weak.

Nothing funny yet. Where's BigPoppaVol and Voldad when you need 'em?

Of course everyone on this forum loves the facebook statuses... We even go as far as analyzing recruits' fashion choices (Bryce Brown's choice of a "burnt" orange polo that he wore on his visit last year said that he wasn't a Vol lock if I remember).

I love this site!

Also.... sorry for the double post... but to the MODS, can we please fix the GEORGIA TECH "favorite team" logo? It doesn't load for me, and I want to sport my alma mater. Thanks!

Again, I check the status of certain recruits, but would not and have never sent one a friend request MUCH LESS post **** on their status and wall constantly.

I've seen the guy you were talking about on Posey's wall. He posts "Go Vols" on every single, football and non football related post.

Oh look, another one of these threads. Has it been three months already? That's about how often they pop up.
