Constitutional or not, this isn't right. I won't hold my breath waiting for them to haul union representatives in front of congress for strong-arming industry.

if people would just wake up and see whats going on, then theres nothing the government can do. The problem is that too many people have become obamasheep

i bet lawgaytor is really happy about this. this is his America.

of course, hes a lawyer.

thats what kills me about people whining about the patriot act. All it does is combine bills that have already been on the books, updated them, and gotten rid of some red tape. Im not doing anything wrong, therefore i dont have to worry about wire taps or anything like that

Ya that definition of wrong can be changed in a hurry. I used to think the same way, and in fact (god I'm so sorry) defend the patriot act then one day I realized that one day it could be that being things that are considered perfectly normal today could be terrorist acts tomorrow. They have other ways to find the bad guys, lets just use those for now then.

How? I don't the a rats ass if they tap my line forever. That doesn't make tapping it constitutional, but it does mean I have nothing to be concerned with.

I don't mind either, but I would like to see a little more oversight on the practice. At a minimum, I don't see why getting a warrant should be a problem.

I viewed this differently at one time, because I believe those with nothing to hide shouldn't care, but I was dead wrong.

For the long term, it's a bad idea to let our government run willy nilly over our right to privacy.

As far as I know, there is no explicit right to privacy outlined in the constitution. Supreme court rulings and interpretations of the 9th (I think) amendment make an argument to not infringe upon privacy.

Nevertheless, I say get a warrant and I don't care what you do.

I don't have an explicit right, but I have an inherent right in my opinion.

I don't have an explicit right to oxygen either, but....
