Hey Vol fans. I would like to know your opinion on what you think Bama will do this fall. What kind of season will Bama have? Your opinion on Croyle, your opinion on Shula. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it, have a good day.

Shula better do something or Bama fans are going to show him the way out of town alot faster then he came into it. Bama fans want nothing more then a great season to be proud of,Which they have waited for and deserve.( Some of them anyway ) LOL. AS for Croyle if he can stay healthy I think he will do a great job.I think Shula made a really bad decision during the Georgia game putting in Croyle. That was a big set back on the healing process for Croyle getting hurt again. But I don`t think Shula will make a mistake like that again, and they should have a great season. Good luck to you, Good luck to them this season.( EXCEPT when you play our VOLS! LOL.

I don't know enough about Bama's team this year to really comment intelligently. What are you hearing from other Bama fans? What seems to be the overall expectation for the year?

Depth is really really bad, except at linebacker. Both offensive and defensive lines are in a world of hurt for depth. Injury wise, Bama is pretty good. For now. If injuries come alone, lack of depth will come into play. Last year, there were no audibles and very few blitzes due to the team' short exposure to the new offense and defense. This year, expect more aggressive defensive schemes, and more versatile offense. Most folks in the know think Bama will be around 7-4 at season's end. Morale is very good, and the new strength and conditioning coach is focusing on all aspects of conditioning including diet, weight lifting, and cardiovascular. Most of the players are saying that Bama will be in very good condition this year. Kicking is a big question, but there is a walk-on kicker from Stuart, Fla., C.J. Rhody, who could contribute. He was the best in Fla. high schools last year. Receivers are thin, and lots of freshmen receivers could see action. Expect 12 freshmen to play this year. Last year's 4-9 season has left the Bama players hungry. We'll see.

GoTide, at the risk of opening up a can of worms, would you give us YOUR opinion of Finebaum, Gallion, et al? I promise not to flame you and won't ridicule anything you say with a smart-aleck post.

Did I just type that?

Croyle is a tough and good QB and Shula is still learning and seems pretty good but I really don't know if he'll last long enough to make a difference. The team will have a hard time with no depth and some weak on field talent at certain positions, 2 or 3 injuries could doom the team to a really bad year. On the other side the Bama schedule is very much in their favor as it is weaker than the last 6 or 7 years. If they can stay healthy they could win 7 but then again they could lose 6. This signing class took a major academic hit and will hurt for 2 more years.

I really don't have much of an opinion on it, except I want the case to continue so we will all know the truth, one way or the other. I believe the NCAA is overall a very good organization, but they need to be policed too. My gut feeling is that Fulmer is not telling all he knows. Not sure exactly what he knows, but just a gut feeling that he is holding some information private. A deposition should expose that. I would feel much better about him if he would hurry and give a deposition.

Shula will truly be judged on this season, because this is his first full year as a coach, and thus had time to implement his system. Croyle is an amazing athlete, and will do well provided he stays healthy. The biggest problem seems to be the D-line, and depth. Bama has some good receivers (especially prothro), but who will fill the spot for the departing Shaud Williams. I'd say 7-4 would be a good year.
