During his press conference yesterday, Dooley made a cryptic comment regarding recruiting. When asked about the punt returners, he said "well, I shouldn't talk about recruiting but we have three or four . . . . We just have to get through the next few weeks." He must think someone in the upcoming class can really return punts.

Any guesses? Arnett? Dallas? Young?

Devrin Young was top secret project at Oak Ridge. A team of nuclear scientists worked for 17 years to develop the most devastating punt returner known to mankind since Devin Hester (See, they just added a letter to his 1st name, copyright infringement).

Devrin Young = Atomic TD's

Who was the last dynamic returner at UT?

Willie Gault?

Leonard Scott?

Peerless Price?

Point is its been a while.

Scholly well spent on Young IMO.

If we were in year 3 of Dooley's tenure, I'd be all for it. I just feel we could use another lineman, or a linebacker, instead of just a returner. Now if the staff feels he can contribute well at CB/WR/RB, then I'm for it.

We have been lacking a gamechanger in the return game for a long time. I have a good feeling we find one out this incoming class. There are too many good athletes coming in for us not to find one.

I've got no problems with the sentiment. My guess is that he is a returner first. If he proves himself, and is as fast as he appears, they will eventually use him on offense as well. Give it a year or two.

Think about how much the muffed punts have cost us this year.

Coleman or D. Young. I think Coleman or Arnett could be kick returners while Young returns punts.

I hate muffed punts also and I would settle for a guy who can just catch the ball (ala Gerald Jones).

And I said before, we need more LB's than a returner. That's just my opinion though. Maybe Young can play some CB or RB, or a slot guy and can make a difference.
