Our local shelter has been advertising free adoption on our county Facebook. It's mostly pits, and pit mixes, they're saying they're having to put so many down a week. Unfortunately around here, you got rednecks galore who want a pit, then get it, then take it to the pound because it's hard to handle. They breed them like rabbits in our area, and by rednecks, it's not just bubba the white guy. Every culture represented here thinks it makes them look tough to have one.

I don't get the thing with Pits. It's usually people who want an agressive dog. Often chained up outside.

We've got a few around here who "walk" them around town. When I say walk, there's a guy who has two you see occasionally, and they're usually pulling him.
