I agree. He's kinda like a modern day Spurrier without the wise cracks. And, to be honest, I really liked Spurrier as a coach, just wish we coulda beat them more.I really want this guy to succeed here, not only because I love UT football and want to watch it succeed, but also because I want his approach to work. He says the right things, his players, coaches, and colleagues seem to love him, and by dammit he has that fire on the field that I absolutely love to see.
don't see that wayThanks for the correction. Shame we missed out on having Spurrier.
Well, you know, your eyes are in your head, and my eyes are in my head. It stands to reason that we see things differently.don't see that way

Thanks for posting the article on Dewey. One of my all time favorites and I never understood why his sports talk show was discontinued, especially when you see some of the nuckle heads we have on 99.1 today.don't see that way

In 66 when Spurrier won the Heisman he lead the SEC in many passing categories but Dewey was #2 and lead in a few: 18 passing TDs to Spurriers 16; a passing efficiency of 142.2 to Stevie's 132.2; Passing Yard Per Attempt Dewey 7.5 to Stevie 6.9; plus Dewey had 5 rushing TDs to Stevie's 0. Spurrier was only a slightly better passer while Dewey was the better QB. jmoWell, you know, your eyes are in your head, and my eyes are in my head. Loved the Swamp Rat, I think was fun. I think Steve would have been a good deal for the UT. especially again as a coach with his
fun and gun offense.
Cool. I still like Spurrier, and Dewey both. Spurrier because i still think he'd have prospered at the UT if we had a coach who liked to pass the ball more. Dewey because he was, for me, fun to watch. I'm just weirdly wired, I suppose.
