Cal is 10-1 but against a pretty weak schedule, they did beat Syracuse but they look to be down this year

Wisconsin is the best coached team in basketball without a doubt. If Ryan got players the caliber of KY he would win NC every year.

He's built his system on developing and getting the most our of every guy. Idk how he'd do with a revolving door over and over. He's a great coach but very different systems and talent for a reason.

Why did Cuonzo short arm Bo Ryan when the teams shook hands? He took time to convo with Wisky players, but barely shook Bo's hand.

We got the best of both worlds.

We went to the Sweet 16(due to an easy route) and we still got rid of Gonzo.

I'm glad he left because we probably wouldn't have fired him even if he didn't win a tourney game. My favorite part of his tenure was him doing us a favor by leaving. For that, I cannot dislike the guy.

With that being said, he really is the Derrick Dooley of football. Mediocre at every level as a head coach in the college ranks. It wouldn't matter if guys like them coached in the SEC or if they coached in the MAC. They'd always be struggling game after game and finishing in the middle of the pack. They'll never consistently be better than any other team other than teams that are playing with less money and resources. As someone else pointed out, other than Syracuse, Cal's record is a farce, just like our tourney run. We played the sh*ttiest of teams to get to the Sweet 16 and we could have pulled those games off with no coach at all.

Best of luck to both though. Dooley found his niche with the Cowboys as a WR coach, about the only quality position under his tenure. As for the Gonz, he'll be lucky if he gets to year 5 at cal. I have to believe he'll end up at a smaller program. He's not that good and his style of basketball is horrid to watch unless you're winning. You could play the worst style and fans would be happy as long as you win. It was both horrible to watch and we still weren't very good anyways.

Isn't Derek Dooley the Derek Dooley of football?

Just kidding. I know what you meant and agree!
