Just think, when the hire was announced a lot of people said "Who in the hell is Counzo Martin?" Turns out he was a young coaching talent who only needed an opportunity.

I am pretty excited for the upcoming season. Would be great to get both our big sports on the right track.

Q looked great in the RTL. He had SEC size then so I can only imagine how much strength he has gained. I have said it before and I will say it again, Q is going to be a big time contributor for the vols.

I definitely hope so. I was also intrigued by him when I watched at RTL. His lack of organized experience concerns me though. But from what I've read, he's a smart kid.

I was one of those people who wasn't overly excited by the hiring of CCM, but I like the man more and more. He's a solid coach who expects his players to be good on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. I respect him and am glad he is our coach. Thanks for sharing this article.

I'm a Martin fan, but I'm also a little worried about our perimeter play. I understand Martin's logic about KY, but KY can score anywhere on the floor. Lamb is a better shooter then anyone on our team, tot to mention Miller, Jones, and Wiltjer can score as well from outside. We need shooters, and IMO it'll be a huge mistake if we don't get some in the 13' class.

I think he was referring to recruiting and signing the kid from Memphis in the same year....By the way, IMO, there are only a couple of kids a year (at best) that I feel we should even take a chance on in Memphis (at least in the past and Jarnell was DEFINITELY one of those)...have to be REAL careful recruiting these kids as a rule....

I agree somewhat but Jones shot 33% from 3pt range so it's not like he's a "shooter". Also if UT had what would be 3 top 15 picks playing the SF, PF and Center I bet McBee, McRae, and Golden would be getting more wide open looks like UK's guards get and their 3pt% would look a lot better as a result. Very few people shot well with a guy right in their face.

Um, JP was a transfer.

Um, read the article. Of course JP came to UT after a partial season at Arizona. But the author said Memphis hadn't produced a UT player since Dane Bradshaw in 2002.

Although JP wasn't straight out of HS, it is common knowledge he was a top recruit from Memphis. It made Cal so mad he snubbed Memphis he called him PJ.

I know it wasnt the point of the article, but I couldnt help but shake my head when I saw that Kentucky shot 300 more free throws than their opponents this year. Good god.
