The 4 big recruiting services collectively have Vols ranked an average 9.75 in the Nation.

Top 10 class by average of the 4

Rivals #7
Scout #7
247 #11
ESPN #14

Looking forward to how this class will finish with some more shake ups and additions until Signing Day. Of course, Butch is known for closing strong and may have Signing Day surprises.............

I would take ESPN's rankings as slightly above useless. They have and always will be secondary when it comes to recruiting. I would say 247 is probably the more accurate because it is a composite ranking.

Who all do 247 sports take into account? If you discount ESPN, then the composite score of scout and rivals would just be #7, right? :pilot:

I still dont understand how the 24/7 composite works. A lot of times they will have someone rated 4 stars along with Rivals or Scout and the composite will be a 3 star.

The composite is garbage. 247 defers to it which is kinda weird. You're basically saying that your own rankings don't matter by doing that.

They struggle to keep it updated and lots of times if you dig into it, the formula isn't working like it should.

After the update of their #1 ranked recruit added to the TN Team rank.

That puts us at 7,7,10 & 11 which is great! Hopefully we finish in the Top 10 or very close. I would really like to add another quality DT to this class. We currently have two very good ones in Eric Crosby and Kivon Bennett but need one more.

GO VOLS!!!

I think we also desperately need some early impact corners and linebackers. Agree with the DT needs. Also throw in Cam Akers at rb and I think we're good.

Good......it's all coming together, and I have a bunch of replies to some not so positive posters on here........I see the resemblances of a 98 team in Team 121..........jmo.

What you mean? Vols facing Nebraska with senior QB who's been starter pretty much since he was a freshman. Junior QB comes in next year with an elite WR to throw to... A MLB that's one of the best in the SEC if not nation.... Nope don't see a resemblance

I don't care who Butch brings in as recruits. Until we get someone who can coach them up we can have 100 5* guys and still lose 4 games a year.
