They don't. Who would have known about the women's golf and tennis titles if this thread wasn't posted? Don't hit us with "It's about SEC pride" either. Nobody but fans of these schools brag about championships like this. The rest of us couldn't give a damn.

I understand posting about the major sports. But if I went to a Gator board and bragged about women's tennis , they would have one collective gut laugh at me. Thank God I don't spend my time on a rival board.

I don't even think sensible fans of most schools brag about winning sports like that.

It's not in a lot of regards, especially considering there are something like 35 or so NCAA sanctioned sports for men and women and the Pac-12 has by and large the most team national titles.

Not to mention that if I wanted to be guaranteed a fantastic education and boatloads of money in my life the SEC, on average, would not be my first choice for an academic conference.

SYDH elsewhere, because while the SEC dominates the sports that people care about, that doesn't make it the best conference around.

Lack of a ladies title in basketball makes this pointless, we can't even say we have the top 5 sports in our conference. just top 3

The Cats were on the cusp of winning the Capital 1 Cup but baseball sucked last weekend and put them out of overtaking #1.

Alums care more than fans. If my alma mater fields a sports team, and that team wins a national title, I'm proud regardless of the sport.

As for the conference pride, if UT was contributing to the ring count, chances are some of you would care just a bit more.

Of course UGA winning anything, ever, is the exception to the rule.

I didn't go to any womens tennis matches or track meets this year. Not sure what my attendance at a UF sporting event has to do with having pride in their accomplishments.
