Curt Maggitt has been out all year. Is it he is still hurt or is something else going on. I for one thought he would be back on the field by now.

Isn't it usually 9-12 months for an ACL? He's 10 or so months in. Just hope he can get back and have a positive impact soon, this team needs it.

He was on the sidelines yesterday jumping around and trying to keep everyone on the team engaged. Would like to see him get healthy and back in pads. He's a leader, or he has at least embraced himself as such.

He got hurt...

Watching the film of him getting hurt...

He will likely redshirt this year. Not everyone is Adrian Peterson, some athletes need more time to rehab, like D. Rose.

Thought I heard something yesterday about maybe receiving or applying for a medical redshirt this season.

Depends on how they do it. My experience is that those who use cadever ligaments typically rehab faster than those who use other ligaments such as quad for ACL (which is what I got). Also, did he have other damage besides the ACL.

Beyond that each injury depending on severity and the person heals differently depending on the person.

I'd love to have his speed out there but I also want him for two seasons, not one and a half.

Will redshirt this year and we will have a solid linebacker group next year with AJ, Maggitt, and Sapp.

6-9 months is more the norm now-unless the ligament has been torn prior. Some players take a little longer (10-12 months). He needs to redshirt

Did the same doctor do his surgery that did Maymon's? Sure makes me wonder because I have heard rumors of infection just like Maymon had.

It seems like I heard somewhere that Maggit was cleared to play but he didn't feel comfortable with it yet.

If he can make an impact in the last 4-6 games this year, I'd rather see him play. He may go pro after next season if he has a good year.

This is what's going on. I've heard numerous guys that cover UT (i.e. VQ, 247) say on the radio that he's had a hard time coming to grips with being cleared. I hope he can get over this mentally and not let it hold him back.
