Fulmer said that if Slade couldn't work D-MO into the secondary, then he's going to put him at WR. I think it's more a motivational thing though.

You'd have to think that with the coaches having already stated that we will not see alot of rotation at the receiver positions this year, the chances of Morely seeing the field on offense would be slim.

I said earlier though, the boy's got speed. Get him on the field.

I would be extremely displeased if they moved Morley 100% to WR. He's too good and has too much upside to move him. From what I've seen, he very well could be an All SEC or All American DB by the time he leaves.

Kid's a stud... and we do HAVE to get that kid on the field... he'll be wreaking havoc at safety before long i have a feeling

I think he's got the stuff to be an All-SEC player this season (if 2nd team or honorable mention).

Do a Woodson from Michigan. Play him both ways.
I would never use a player like that in the SEC, especially one as young and talented as Morley. That's asking for injury.

Agree and did not mean full time. Just in those special circumstances.

Oh... Eh... Maybe, I don't know. We must have an all-American defensive backfield if DMo isn't good enough to make starter anyways.

From what I understand this was mostly tongue-in-cheek, and that CPF was digging at Slade a little bit. They do seem concerned with his lack of understaning regarding defensive schemes.

Something doesn't sound right here. The HC is trying to motivate a DB coach to play a certain player or he will move him? Are the guys in front of Morley that good or is he having trouble with something that is limiting his pt? I do agree that if he is having trouble with something that is a liability on defense and has the athelticism to make plays on the offense - get him in the game. If he is not a liability on D, then put him in the game.

he should be playing CB.

If he is having trouble making his reads, I agree. The problem is that his size better suits him for safety.

http://tennessee.scout.com/2/548004.html

That is the link, but it is a pay site.

In the article CPF was at a golf outing and basically says they have to find somehow to get Morley on the field even if it is at receiver. Then he looks at Slade who is apparently in dismay, and he says "that just turned a screw". "I really messed his (Slade's) whole morning up" (almost as if he wanted to beat Slade in Golf and was trying to get into his head). He then goes on to say that UT has to find a way to get Morely "up to speed", leading one to believe he is having assignment troubles.

The article goes on to say that CPF was being facetious about the position change.

Monday I listening to SPORTS TALK w/ Jimmy and Jon and they were interviewing CPF. Jimmy ask him a question about what Peyton Manning said after his workout with the team a couple of weeks ago. Peyton said that D MO is the best athlete and has the best hands on the team.

But classic CPF said that he needed to learn to play safety first and then maybe they would look to put him on the field at WR.

Mark Jones seemed to do fine with it in 2003. 36 catches for 556 yards and 5 TDs. 20 tackles, 2 interceptions. 20 punt returns for 303 yards and a TD. I say if Morley is good enough to do it, let him do it.

Just heard Randy Moore, Rockyrtop News and Insidetennessee.com, talking to Jimmy Hyams on the radio. He said regarding D-Mo, that Fulmer was having a good time with Slade and he thought D-Mo will be starting and Inky will return to a back up position.

Add in a couple int's and those are Heisman #'s.

Well, we recruited him for D and that's what he's been learning. Do you keep him out of the receiver rotation now while he learns the playbook? Learn the safety position and then he can go to O if he wants.
