Sweet home Alabama in a few years
With his quote, that makes me wonder if he already has a secret agreement with Alabama to take over. The way he phrased it is the kind of thing you hear from someone that’s already accepted a job elsewhere.

If he thinks the pressure to win is big right now at Clemson and that he is dealing with irrational fans there, then why the hell would he go to bammer following perhaps one of the greatest college head coaches of all time.

I am not embeded in the Clemson fanbase circles so I don't know, but is it a stretch to say that those "fans" complaining about a 21 point win over SC are probably a very small minority? The only reason he would respond to that with such an overblown response threatening to leave is if he is actually planning his exit. Just my 2 cents.

And I just don't see Saban leaving anytime soon. His team is pretty much set for at least two years with Tua if he is healthy. Probably could win at least two more NC in addition to this year's before he retires. Why leave now?

I don’t think he feels any pressure. I think he’s using it as his “reason” for moving on.

There comes a point in a mans life where spending more time on the golf course and less time on the job is. ideal. There's only so many trips around the sun.
If he wins another one this year he should ride off into the sunset. He would tie the bear at bama and have one more than anyone else with the LSU championship. I mean what the hell else is there?
He'll be long gone if and when anyone comes close to his (7) titles in his trophy case.

Lol what spoiled morons. Clemson has no business being an elite program like it has been lately, they should cherish it, it won’t last.
Why not? They have resources, are in prime recruiting territory, and currently are dominating a conference that isn't great top to bottom.

If he thinks Clemson fans are spoiled and entitled, he has no idea what is waiting for him if/when he takes the Alabama job.

The longer time goes on, the more I think Saban will be at Alabama well into his 70s and Dabo will see that the grass really isn't all that greener, if greener at all, on the other side. It will be hard for him to say no because Alabama is home but it isn't like he has no roots at Clemson. He's been there since 2003, has won a title there, and is the reason the program is in as good a shape as it is. Clemson would be able to come close, if not match, whatever Alabama offered him.

I hate Clemson, more than anyone else I feel they took our place at the table. And I have an obnoxious Clemson in-law, that I'd like to body slam any time I am forced to see him.

Remember we took "their" recruits for years. Fulmer went down there and got all kinds of kids out of South Carolina during his good years. Everything is cyclical.

I don't see it changing anytime soon. And now that they've had success (already a decent program history*) I highly doubt they'll settle for their next HC.

Plenty of instate recruits (and easy to recruit the other surrounding states as well)

*16th all-time wins, 2 NCs

I could definitely see sticking around to pass Bryant. why be in his shadow if you don't have to be?

Yeah, dont get the "has no business being an elite program", they have always had a great program, just went through some valleys just like us.
