Dale Jr. stays mum on contract, lauds Gordon tribute

The contract offered Earnhardt Jr. .51% of LMS if Junior agreed to drive the tram, teach Victory Lane etiquette, be the pre-race musical act and serve as the track owner's personal chauffeur.

I do not agree with Dale Jr.'s opinion on the whole Jeffy flying the #3 flag. I wouldn't expect Dale Jr. to say anything negative about it anyways.

I do agree with him on the people that throw the beer cans. That is just a plain stupid thing to do.

Why is it such a bad thing for Jeff to pay tribute to Dale Sr.?? I don't get some of you guys. Junior isn't just saying this stuff for PR, it was a classy move on Jeff's part. As for the morons that throw stuff, well I won't get started on this subject.

You don't have to get it. Everyone has their personal opinions about it and have reasons behind them. I don't agree with the people that thought it was classy, but you have a right to your opinion.

I don't get it either. What was classless about the gesture? Whatever you think of JG, it looked to me like a pretty benign; respectful tribute, but some people sure did get fired up about it.

Is there honestly any reasoning other than people not liking Jeff Gordon? :dunno:

Even his post race comments were extremely tactful:

"It means the world," Gordon said. "Holding that 3 flag, it's certainly by no means saying we're as good as him. I learned so much from him. We wanted to honor him. We've been holding on to that flag for a long time." One of the first drivers to congratulate Gordon in Victory Circle was Dale Earnhardt Jr.
"That means the world to me because I didn't want to come across the wrong way," Gordon said. "We wanted to show tribute and honor."

People interpret things differently. I have my reasons for my opinion, just like you do. I have stated mine over and over. I can't help it that you don't agree or get it.

People interpret things differently.
I'm sure you have valid reasons, I just don't know what they are . . . hence I asked a simple nonthreatening question in an effort to have a discussion.

Maybe Jeff should have come out and did a victory burnout on the 3 flag, then people would have a honest reason to jump the #24 about it.

If Gordon had done that someone would have killed him by now or on his way out of the race track......I don't have an opinion one way or another about it but I can see things from both sides......The side of the Gordon fans being, it's a tribute to a dead legend.....The side from he Earnhardt fans, its like he's rubbing it in their faces that the he tied him and will as much as I hate to say it beat his # of wins....That's JMO

personally as an Earnhardt fan (Sr & Jr), im much more worried about why Dale Jr cant win, not why Gordon is carrying around a 3 flag.........LET IT GO :banghead2:

I've got a feeling Jeff could careless if the Earnhart Nation likes him or not..lol
:eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

Thats why he continually kisses our ass and tries stuff like Sat night???

He is a puppet Rocky. Nascar bread him and held his hand through the years.

Tony is right on the money with his debris conspiracy. It helps Nascars baby boy Rick Hendrick. So screw all those guys.
