Does anybody agree that Jr. would be better of getting away from DEI and his dad's shadow? Go somewhere and just drive and do PR! Example; Have Yates bring back the 28 and put Jr behind the wheel! I am no big Jr fan but I don't think he will ever reach his potential at DEI.

Hard to say... but I don't think he'll ever leave where he is right now. Unless eh were to go to RCR and drive a #3 car.

Jr is right where he needs to be, and he'll be fine as long as he stays paired up with Tony Jr. For some reason I just can't ever see an Earnhardt in a Ford. That dosen't sound right.

After the year he has had, I would welcome some change. I see what you are saying. DEI could be holding him back from something better. I don't see him going anywhere else anytime soon. In the future, I would support him anywhere he went as long as he didn't drive for Hendrick Motor Sports. I would find a new favorite driver if that happened.

He needs to quit doing so many goofy commercials and concentrate more on his racing.

No more goofy commercials with Mikey.. Mikey took the big leap to be the front man for Scott Wimmer..

I think Jr. is fine where he is.. just takes him a while with all the new rules and such from NASCAR, and Theresa takin away his crew chief and his cars didn't help too much.. he did well once he got his cars and Eury Jr. back.. ok, maybe not "well" but he at least held his own..

Really? Where is your reasoning behind this? Have you forgotten that he isn't his Daddy and unfortunately never will be....Get off his back, He's still got a lot of time....He hasn't hit his prime yet :peace2:

I think he is to inconsistent to contend for a championship. DEI has great restrictor plate cars, but after that they are way behind Roush, Hendrick, Gibbs, etc on short tracks and road courses.

He needs to get out of there as quick as he can cause DEI is going nowhere.

TEI is definitely behind Roush and Hendrick. Stewart's team hit on something and couldn't be stopped starting in June.

It's not the driver's problem. 'Course it's not about the driver anymore on any team.

u know what, i am probably the biggest earnhardt fan on the earth. but i kinda agree with u. i think after all these years, he still has a little bit of growing up to do. getting eury jr. back, and having a teammate that he loves to race with will help him alot.

that teammate is back 2 back busch champion martin truex jr. by the way.

i just think there is so much competition now in nascar that it will be hard for him to ever win the championship.

it used to be like 5 guys who could win it. now there are like 20 guys who could.

never know though. git er done little E

If Truex can make the transition to Cup quickly it will help Jr. tremendously, but it may take him a couple of years to do that. However, he has the potential to be a great driver in the future, at least twice the driver Michael Waltrip is.

It's the media that keeps hyping him up to be something he is not. His first year in Cup, they hyped him up so much to be just like his dad, it was sickening. No one can fill his dad's shoes, he was the best stock car driver ever in my opinion.

The communication factor didn't work well this year for Dale Jr. and his crew. Once Tony Jr. came back, it improved a lot. They never should have switched crews and cars in the first place after finishing 5th in points the year before.

Even though Dale Jr. is my favorite Nascar driver, I know that there are several drivers that he races against that are better than him. The reason he gets so much attention and fans is because he is an Earnhardt for one and he has one of the best personalities of any of the drivers. What you see is what you get with him. He isn't a Nascar puppet like the drivers at Felony Motor Sports (HMS).

My point is I think TEI (I liked that so well, I borrowed it) is a second rate program and I think he would flourish elsewhere. I don't think RCR is the answer though.

I know what you are saying. I don't know if Dale Jr. would do better away from DEI or not. He has one of the best sponsors with Budweiser and some of the best equipment on the track. I wouldn't mind if he went somewhere else to see if getting away from his family would help him improve. He seems to do better with routine things instead of changes though.

I would be a fan of his wherever he goes as long as he doesn't drive for Hendrick. I would have to find another favorite driver if that happened.

Jr will be find where he is... i think he learned a lot this season about what NOT to do...i think he realized he needs a real team around hime, hence brining Tony Jr. back...

look at Dale Jarrett...they brought Todd back to the team and that one change made a huge difference in the attitude and performance...they won Talladega 1st time out as paired up again....

they'll get it back together....but the days of 10-12 race winners a year are over....and Sr. may be last guy to win more than 5 cups in a career....
