Rarely is the movement of an assistant coach a game changer. This one is the rarity. Frank Martin now has to try and make up for the loss of the guy who essentially got him his job. All the programs in the ACC and Big East who used Gary Williams' unwillingness to pay homage to Curtis Malone and Keith Stevens to stock their rosters with Baltimore/D.C. talent are about to find that avenue closed. Maryland is about to become one of the major players in recruiting. That's how important this is for Mark Turgeon.

Turgeon just provided himself with a huge safety net.

The Terps will be dangerous within 2 years.

Turgeon is quickly becoming my favorite coach in the NCAA. What a great decision.

You'll have to excuse me because I didn't follow the coaching search that closely, but was Turgeon ever approached by Tennessee?

This is huge for Maryland and could be the demise of K-State's recent run. I think Frank knew that this could happen, because he was upset that Miami did not give him a call about their recent opening. I believe that Hill is from the Baltimore area, but could be wrong.
