He just jumped up to a 20.1 points per game average. If he keeps this 25-30 points a game average going for a few more games, he could easily be in the top 5 in two or three games. 21.8 points is #4th in the nation right now.
To be in the top 5 in scoring in NCAA basketball is really amazing. Hope he keeps rising!

Good for him, not great for the team.
It kinda looks like we're slowly, but surely, becoming a one-man team. I'm not a coach but it looks like no one wants to step up and take a shot when the game is on the line. We gotta get back to team basketball with 5 guys having a chance to score in double figures. Dalton is doing some great things but he really needs help with the scoring.

It isn’t a one man team. He’s a generational one-on-one (and even one-on-two) SCORER and the best thing that the others can do when he’s on fire is to give him room. I’m certain that it isn’t the plan to only involve Knecht in the offense. But when it works you have to keep going to it until the opponent can stop him or TN’s lead is insurmountable.

We just had 4 players score 10 or more points and a 5th player had 9 points 4 days ago vs Vandy.

That’s what SCjr is doing and it is working

First we complain that Dalton has been dumb downed by our incompetent coach. Barnes is responsible for his low scoring games. Now, fans complaining because Knecht is scoring too much and we’re a one-man team. Can‘t ever be something sensible in between.

Imagine the out rage from the same group if we didn’t land Knecht in the transfer portal?

Too much stupidity around this board.

It is for the team because many of the players have not been carrying their load. In most games, specially those where we are behind at halftime, we would not win those games without his scoring. The shooting percentages of the rest of the team is not sufficient to win most SEC games. I also saw on the sports shows after the game which were broadcast from the gym, showed h9im shooting free throws during the entire broadcast. There were no other basketball players on the court prating their shots. This may demonstrate that some/many of the other players are satisfied with their performance and need no additional practice. They need to be in the gym trying to improve their game.

Hopefully last night was a wake-up to the other guys. Dropping two games in a row will be very costly. Someone remind JJJ this is the home stretch for his career - don't be passive and end on a personal high.

He is also leading in other teams conversation about UT basketball. Then it turns to most of the other players aren't a threat. So even if we try to deny that last part on this board, other fans see it.
I'm not concerned about most fans' opinions. Most are casual and uninformed. Like a lot of our posters who only show up over here after a loss

Part of DK scoring so much is because the rest of the team isn’t. Other than Aidoo and ZZ, who else is a threat?.

Coaches are begging Vescovi to shoot, Awaka can score but fouls too much, Gainey shoots too much especially when he isn’t hitting, and JJJ just doesn’t shoot period.

Well this thread sure jumped the proverbial tracks 😂. I’d love to see DK lead the SEC in scoring. He’s giving the strongest effort on the team IMO. He’s serious about his game and has a bigger prize in mind!
Would be great for sure and knock that “hot dog” Sears out!

Well it could be if everyone just did their job! DK made a great pass to James, who didn't run to the basket to meet the ball and slam it; instead passed it out. These teammates seem intimidated; when they have an excellent opportunity to score whenever DK is double teamed. They cannot just watch .

DK threw him a great pass that He didn't even attempt to score. He should have been at the basket and slammed it home. No anticipation....

I wish his scoring prowess was rubbing off on 2 or 3 other players on the roster.
I know some of them are capable of more than we've been getting lately.
You can't win titles with only one scorer.
Even Pistol Pete Maravich couldn't lead LSU to a championship.

Pete Maravich and Allan Houston were one man shows without a supporting cast.

Knecht has Aidoo and Seigler as scoring mates.
