Dan Mullen to UNLV

Probably. A little surprised that he didn't hold out for a P4 coaching position, but then again not as many opened up. I'd say he bolts next year if an SEC or B1G school comes calling.
UNLV was a conference championship win away from a CFP bye.

Mullins and Meyer seem to be closer than I could have guessed, with both perusing ready made playoff teams at the same time they were commenting for ESPN.

UNLV wouldn't have gotten the bye if they won, they'd be in Clemson's spot.

You don’t know what the committee would have decided on a win against Boise State. Why do you even want to debate where they would be ranked in relation to Clemson?

Maybe because SMU was ranked higher than Boise St. and Clemson was ranked higher than UNLV before the conference championships. So how exactly would UNLV jump Clemson in this scenario?

The rankings prior to the conference championships:

Very good. Now try explaining the scenario I just set up. How would UNLV jump Clemson?
First you need to understand that did not happen. But since you want an example, UNLV beats Boise State by 3 TD’s while Clemson barely hung on to win, UNLV would have a very impressive win against a top team and Clemson would not. Therefore, the 13 committee members vote them ahead of Clemson.

No s*** Sherlock. This is called discussion because you claimed UNLV would get a first round bye based on pretty much nothing.

Even in your example, Clemson who again was already ranked higher than UNLV would have beaten a higher ranked team; because I don't know if you realized this but 8 (SMU) is higher than 10 (Boise St.). So I don't care if they beat BSU by 3 TD, UNLV would not jump Clemson in that scenario.
