Non-conference schedule is usually done 18 months in advance. There are exceptions, like multi team events and a game here or there that has to move or be put off because of the conference schedule that isn’t done that far in advance, but the staff knew 80% of the schedule for next year back in the summer.

It’s even more true in today’s world where TBA is a top level concert venue and is also used by the volleyball team. It’s important to get dates locked in well in advance.

Great game to see potential recruits in North Carolina.

I think most would agree that the schedule this season is appropriate given all of the changes and the need to develop the new system. But I am sure that after this season most LV fans will be ready to get back to a more competitive schedule, the NCSU game is a good start. Again, I think it was smart scheduling this season the way it was done. No need in year one of a new regime to fall victim to pressure from fans or pollsters for a more competitive schedule. It will come, and the most important thing this season is competing well in the SEC and securing a nice tourney seed. UT is going to knock off some big conference foes this year.
