Not sure any Senior has been through what Daniel has been through. The kid grew up bleeding Orange , was critisized about his past, bashed by the media and given up on in recruiting.moved around on both sides of the ball ,not to mention the tragedy he had gone through while wearing the orange . He may not be the biggest, strongest or have the best stats but the heart this kid has shown made him My favorite Senior! The love he shows for UT is undeniable.

I owe this kid an apology. I didn't judge him, but didn't want to take him because of the negative pub. At the time, there was lots of it surrounding Kiffin. He gave his all and I was glad to have him on that line this year. I don't know him, but I have a ton of respect for him. Best wishes and thank you Daniel Hood.

many of us didn't want him, and judged him. I'm glad so many of us was wrong as I am a huge fan of Daniels.

Catholic took a chance on Daniel, Mark Pemberton (KCHS Head Coach at the time) took a chance on Daniel and Kiffin took a chance on Daniel.

He overcame all the negatives and repaid their trust with steady play and consistent good performance in the classroom.

My eldest graduated from KCHS with Daniel. I choked up when the Irish family, knowing all he'd overcome to get there, gave him an ovation as the Bishop presented him with his diploma.

Knowing Daniel as I did, it always galled me when so-called Christians flatly refused to believe an individual could reform themselves and go on to set an example to his peers.

That is great. Glad others share my feelings about this kid.

If I remember correctly, the issue with his past happened when he was still a young teenager, 14?, noone knows how they would react in that situation. Even the girl that it happened to forgave him. He kept his nose clean and worked hard and through all the off seasons and coaching changes, managed to stay out of trouble and made many people proud of him. For that, he deserves all of our respect.

You get it. A lot of people don't know how or care to shut up and let someone illustrate whether or not they have changed for the better. All too often, so-called Christians are the worst Jerry Springerists of all.

Hood is about the only positive legacy of the CLK era. Kiffin gave him the chance but Hood deserves all the credit in the world for making the most of it. Wish the kid well in the next stage of his life.
