I have always disliked Kannell because of his clear bias against the SEC. I'm no SEC fanboy by any means but it can be obnoxious listening to his anti-SEC rhetoric.

And then he goes and picks Georgia to make the CFP. I mean, seriously? First year head coach with an inexperienced roster. He also picked UCLA as well. Some of those College Football "experts" seem less realistic and informed than your average Joe Shmo.

This is crucial.

Because sports media networks need to fill time when actual decent analysts are off the clock, you end up with people that can barely form a thought as an 'analyst'. They're either A) cheap or B) just good filler.

Danny Kanell is filler. He's got little to no actual insight, but because he played (unsuccessfully) for a few years, and because his name is relatively recognizable, he gets a talking spot. The radio slot he's in now used to be decent- now we have the airhead Russillo and his mentally challenged sidekick clogging the airwaves.

Just playing the game doesn't make one an expert, nor does it make one fit to give analysis on anyone. There's a reason ESPN is constantly getting shredded, and that's because they have literally nobody left that's coherent.

Same dude was on SEC-N this morning ranking the SEC running backs by who would have the best games this weekend (just this weekend). He had Fournette at #5, and neither Hurd nor Chubb on the list at all. The top of his list included the RBs from Vandy (#1), Miss St, Auburn, and another I can't remember. The emcee said something like "bold predictions" and he responded, inanely, "getting some coverage for the teams deep in the conference."

I thought, really dude? You just admitted that you came up with this list, which is supposed to be about who performs best as a RB this weekend, based on which teams have gotten less press coverage lately? And you admitted that on live TV? Hehe....

Yeah, he's a total idiot. Amazes me that ESPN/SECN actually pay him money to be on TV saying the things he says.
