Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
  • Wright, making his 35th career start on the offensive line, neutralized a dominant Alabama front as No. 6/8 Tennessee beat the Crimson Tide, 52-49, on Saturday for the Vols' first victory in the series since 2006.
  • Protected and paved the way for a Tennessee offense that racked up 567 total yards against an Alabama defense that was first in the SEC allowing only 250.8 yards per game (+316.2).
  • Wright, a 2023 NFL Draft prospect, played all 70 offensive snaps at right tackle and did not allow a sack or pressure as the Vols also rushed for 182 yards in the victory.
  • He was the highest graded offensive lineman in the contest according to Pro Football Focus.
  • Wright and Tennessee averaged a stellar 8.1 yards per play, the most allowed by Alabama since 8.85 vs. Texas A&M on Sept. 14, 2013.
  • Wright has not allowed a sack in now 12 straight games.

The more I watch this team, the more I realize that we have quite a few players that are going to be collecting paychecks on Sunday. Darnell was an absolute force this past Saturday. This is the best OL UT has had in decades.

Will who? This young man deserves this.. and the OL play gives me confidence for the UGA game.

What do you mean "Will who" jacksnapper!!?? Oh, the ignorance and disrespect! Don't you know!? Why, he's Lord Audacity himself! :D

I love the fact that he's a five-star recruit who is now living up to his ranking. When's the last time we had a five-star live up to his billing? It almost seems like maybe someone developed him...

Congrats, Darnell! Here's to hoping you get drafted in the first round!

Wright came in with all the potential in the world but very raw. I'm glad he's finally got a coaching staff getting the best out of him.

Could be a first rounder if he keeps it up.

After so many years of subpar play of the Oline it is such a pleasure to see the play of our line this year. There are so many things I like about this coaching staff but actually seeing player development is at the top of my list.
