I clearly don't think Hackney is getting too much credit - here's why:
1) His passes were accurate both from the pocket and on the run. Some of the tightest spirals I've seen. On their second drive, he made an awesome scramble and threw across his body to a receiver cutting across the middle - the pass was perfect.
2) He spread the ball around - took the best option on many plays rather than trying to force it to Lindsay. On there last 2 big drives only 2 players handled the ball more than once (both Lindsay and another got 2 touches per drive).
3) He adapted to a lack of running game - game plan changed.
4) He never got rattled.
5) Look how a good QB (Ainge) can struggle. Hackney was on.
The only knock on Hackney for the pros is his lack of height. Otherwise, he may be the best QB we face all year.

Just out of curiosity, when did 6-1 become too short for the NFL? Guys, that's a new one on me. Methinks Hackney will be making more $$ per year beginning next season than the most of us make in a lifetime.

Never said "too short", but the prototypical NFL qb seems to be moving to the 6-3 to 6-5 range. I still think he will be a first or second rounder...but a couple of inches would boost his stock.

according to a couple of posters on this board Hackney is not that good and if what they say is true what does that say about UT's defense and how pathetic they are
