I hope credit is given to Emory Bellard as the man who invented the Wishbone...under Coach Royal.

Dave Campbell wrote a very good article years ago in the Waco Trib about Coach Bellard and the wishbone. Bellard noticed the success Bill Yoeman was having with the veer using less talented players. He added a fullback to the veer and history was made.
