I find it a tad arrogant and douchey when you start calling musicians names because they refuse to let you use their songs for your show.

“It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do f—ing Glee,” Grohl told THR... “And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his f—ing show… f— that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee.” [...]
Recounting anti-Glee comments made by Slash earlier this year and subsequent retorts by Murphy, Grohl explained to drummer Taylor Hawkins: “The Glee guy, what a f—ing jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns ‘n’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate f—ing musicals. It’s worse than Grease.’ Then [Murphy's] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed up ol’ rock star, that’s what they f—ing do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little *******s…’ And it’s just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included.

I don't understand when people get pissed about this sort of thing. The creators of a work have the right to decide how and when it is used. I don't think rock groups want to be mistaken or branded as pop music. It wouldn't make sense to allow for exposure on Glee.

No reason to unprofessionally whine about it either like Gleetard does. Respect it and move on with dignity. It isn't like Glee is suffering for guest spots.

Glee is actually a guilty pleasure of mine*, but I agree with Grohl. Reminds me of Michael Moore's freakout on The Who because they wouldn't let him use "Won't Get Fooled Again" for Farenheit 9/11.

*It's by far the best show I watch because of the wife.

I like it because I like a cappella music in general. I make fun of the plot all the time. (most of) the singers, however, are fantastic. That's what I appreciate.

Yes, I know there's hardly any a cappella music on the show, but the choir aspect is still appealing to me.

It is always funny when someone gets upset at an artist for not giving them permission to use their work.

Almost as funny as critic ragging on and on about how awful and unoriginal something is...While he is sitting at a desk meeting a deadline in NYC somewhere. Music business is awful.

God Bless Dave for services rendered over the past two decades..

Same thing happened with Kings of Leon. Ryan Murphy went after them after they said no to the use of "Use Somebody". News flash to Ryan Murphy: The music industry doesn't revolve around your silly TV show.

yes, was just asking if he was giving the cliff notes since that is basically what the article said.

Basically, Kings of Leon said no to the use of "Use Somebody" because they felt they had already over promoted it. He then went on a profanity laced tirade about how it was a slap in the face to music education and the viewers and something about "What if kids were inspired by it?" kind of thing. The drummer then basically told him to unwad his panties and get over it.

Moral of the story is, if you want to publicly troll this guy, tell him no then sit back and enjoy the hissy fit.

I would like to think more that I started the first Dave Grohl thread, then again that might not be accurate.

Am I the only person that doesn't have a clue wtf glee is? I know it is some type of TV show, but that is about it.
