Has Tennessee offered this 2009 prospect yet? I saw this kid in the State Championship Game and he looked like a legit D-1 prospect

Well according to some people's logicaround here....the kid (if legit) will be heading to Alabama because its is closer!

Logic would tell us any LB prospect from that county will eventually start on the strong side for the Vols (Eddie Moore, Eric Westmoreland). Lets just hope Alabama doesn't buy him a Mustang and give his father a job at TVA in Jackson County, AL, a la Kenny Smith.

I believe this past year he was around 5'11 6'0 190 pounds and ran a legit 4.5 flat. So he def. has time to improve his height some weight, and speed..

Because the TN river runs as far south as Guntersville, AL. However It starts in Knoxville end in Paducah, Ky!

Just for Reference if the kids dad wants a Job at TVA. Have him talk to my dad he's a huge Vol Fan and a big dog over at the TVA Shawnee Plant in KY. hahaha

the TVA exists in pretty much the entire South. It was a federal works commission to give more people jobs during the depression era and also regulate power and energy, which some would argue was a socialist movement, but that's irrelevant.

All i know is that i've seen Jones play and yes he is legit.Insider's say he's better than Eddie Moore was at the same stage.Great student as well.Mississippi State ,Memphis and MTSU have shown the most interests so far.

i have also saw the jones kid play a few times including in the championship. he was an pretty impressive player but i dont know about university of tennessee good, i would guess that schools like memphis or mtsu are somewhat interested in him. i thought the best one on the team this past season was the robinson kid. i'm basing my opinion on the games that i saw. has he signed anywhere?

Tennessee State. South Pittsburgh has the reputation of producing good talent but talent that cannot make the grades. If Robison and Jones make it maybe the reputation will change.

i hear that. we have actually had the same problem in the past. although we havent had that type of just pure talent lately that south pitt had last yr.. tennessee state aint bad. its just really hard for players from 1a schools to get recognized. it may be different in your area.

I agree with you. Playing college football is an achievement no matter if you're talking Division I or Division III. It is just frustrating to see any kids waste their potential and the way it sounds this program has been one of the worst at it.

South Pitt has had many guys, but they havent had that much D-1 level talent in the past. They had a guy in 94 that was a DB ranked in the top 100 in the south, then E.Moore was the next D-1 prospect. They have had a couple of guys that were border line that either didnt make the grade or signed with a smaller school. Robinson this past year was good, just not D-1 good. Jones though has alot more potential to go D-1.
