Does anyone else not feel like it was just two seasons ago that Justice played for the A's and was hitting doubles into the gaps with ease?

Does it not seem like 5 years ago that he was part of the dominant Braves teams?

I feel so old now. Don't know if he'll get in on the first vote or not, but he's got a good shot.

If Todd Stottlemyre and Robb Nen can get on the ballot, apparently anybody can.

Agreed that Justice isn't a Hall of Famer. Raines is the only first-time candidate who's a shoo-in. He and Gossage are the only two guys on the ballot for whom I'd vote.

I wonder if the drug issues will cost Raines any votes. Dude admitted using cocaine during games and at times in the 80s was sliding head first because he had a vial in his back pocket.

Really? Or am I being gullible?

I am not making that up. Raines has admitted to all of it.

Of course, Paul Molitor did the same sort of stuff and he got in. It's a little comical that the writers get all up in arms about steroids but didn't seem to mind Paul Molitor doing a little coke.

Tim Raines should be an easy first ballot inductee. He probaly won't be, due to the fact that about 50% of the voters are imbeciles. David Justice should get in the Hall of Fame right about the time Ron Gant and Ray Lankford get to Cooperstown.

Why the hate for former St Louis Cardinals?
