David Shaw i don't think will be fired by Stanford after this season however i think it's possible in December 2023 if Stanford has another losing season.

To your point...Shaw's best season at Stanford was his 5th season, when all of Harbaugh's guys were gone. They were a season opening upset loss at a good N'western team from being in the CFP, which absurd for a program like Stanford to even sniff.

It's honestly a miracle he was so successful at Stanford for 8 seasons. Not an easy place to recruit to with the academic standards. Don't know what's happened there the past 4 seasons; feels like they've reverted to their natural mean.

That's also basketball, where 2-3 good players makes you an NCAAT contender. Football is a totally different deal.

The only school that's about as hard to get into as Stanford is Rice. However it's much harder to win at Rice than Stanford.
