Read this in the Tennessean today. I now know who I'll be pulling for to win the SEC.
Allen's support: Injured Tennessee cornerback Jason Allen said he hopes to be running a full month before the NFL Combine in February and doesn't regret coming back for his senior season.
"God has a plan for me, and it's all going to work out," Allen said. "I don't ask, 'Why?' when I make a big play or make a big tackle, so I don't ask, 'Why?' about this."
Allen, who dislocated his hip against Georgia, said he may undergo an arthroscopic procedure to clean up the hip, but he remains confident that he will be able to resume his football career in the NFL.
Allen, a two-time captain, thanked all of the fans for their cards and words of encouragement. He also said he received a letter from Georgia Coach Mark Richt and that the entire Georgia team sent him an autographed football. Several of the Georgia players, including tight end Leonard Pope, have called Allen personally.
Pope was the player Allen was trying to tackle when he suffered the injury.
"I've had so much support from those guys, and I really appreciate that," said Allen, adding that DeMario Minter, D.J. Shockley, Max Jean-Gilles and assistant head coach Rodney Garner also called him personally.
Allen said he's only watched the play one time, the Sunday after the game.
"I watched it with my family," Allen said. "It was pretty disgusting. I don't think I'll watch it again."
