This may have been covered in another thread - if so, please point me in the right direction..

If the Dawgs don't improve drastically this year and Richt gets the Fulmer treatment at the end of the season, I assume there will be some current GA commitments/leans that we could possibly steal during the home stretch to NSD.

I know CDD and staff are really focused on Georgia because of the proximity to K-town, the staff's connections (Chuck Smith, etc.) and the insane amount of talent that originates there.

I also understand that any defections will be fair game for other schools like FLA, SCe and Bama.

But, that being said, does anybody have any insight into GA commitments or leans that we may have a chance to land if Richt gets the boot at season's end?

I understand it's all speculation because it's still so early in the recruiting game, but I thought it would be an interesting topic.

richt isn't going to be fired no matter what this year. he has a 8 million dollar buyout for the 4 seasons that is left on his contract. 2 mil per season. i don't believe georgia can afford that plus a new coach's contract of close to that. :salute: :salute:

If the right people want him gone- buyouts mean nothing!

You might be right, but a lot of people (myself included) didn't think Fulmer would get the $6M buyout he got in '08.

And some of the Athens media are already talking "Hot Seat on Full Blast" >>

Either way, im not concerned about uga's problems, but if it means we get Damian Swann, I'd be ecstatic

Best case senerio, UGA misses a bowl, but retains CMR for a few more seasons (ala Fulmer and TN in 05 -08). such a bad year and the rummors around CMR will hurt UGA recruiting bad, but with him there it will continue to build and get worse over the years until TN is back to full strength.

I can go for this!

it looks like nick marshall and sterling bailey are the only GA commits Tn was interested in anyway. any chance they get swayed to TN?
in addition to debell

I think Richt may get at least another year to turn things around. He is owed a huge buyout and he is pretty thick with all the boosters I believe. He should be gone but I bet he will stick there another year, which is great for us.

We are a rebuilding team, most every recruit knows that; UGA gets top talent year after year and squanders it. I'd rather Richt stay then UGA land someone like Muschamp or Smart who may actually be able to utilize that talent.

If they continue to fall apart do they have any on the fence we could steal. Who would you take in a heart beat?
