I'm impressed- UCONN will separate itself and probably win by 10 or more the second half but you have to give them props for not rolling over like so many teams do against them.

Playing fearlessly! Great half. The more they stick with UCONN, the more pressure they will face. The upset would be second only to Louisville beating Baylor if it were to happen.

Dayton's offensive execution is amazing. I can't believe that they are leading UConn at the break.

I don't know if they can keep up this pace in the second half. They played almost a perfect half and are only up by 1. I figure UConn will continue at this pace in the second half. Will Dayton?

Combined with the wins against UK, Louisville and now this, they look like a top 5 team in the country.

I'd say even bigger. Lousville was at least a highly ranked team.

Officiating Officiating Officiating. The officials have now got control of the game. Changed the whole dynamics of the course of this game.

I was saying the same thing in another thread. They are 100% making sure UConn wins this game. Their whistle is in their pockets when Dayton has the ball and it's already in their mouth by the time UConn crosses halfcourt.

I do have to call out KML. ******n, she is a baller. Sweetest stroke I've ever seen.

Yea, I think Dayton is scared in this second half. My god they look pitiful.

They are scared because the refs took away their inside game. They have no choice but to jack up shots because UConn is being allowed to mug them inside with no calls.

The refs totally killed Dayton's offensive execution in the second half.

Same way Tennessee is mugging MD? Take off your blinders. Pitiful. Give credit to Connecticut for making the 2nd half adjustment(s). Better defense on the pick n roll.

This is an absolutely pathetic post.

In the Tennessee game, the refs weren't calling the mugging on either side, so at least they were calling it even for both teams.

In the second half of Dayton-UConn early possessions, Dayton went inside two or three times to the French girl, she went up strong, lots of contact and no whistle. UConn does the exact same thing at the other end with Stewart once and Tuck (who threw up an off balance prayer while stumbling) and both get rewarded with FTs.

Like I said, I never complain about the refs deciding a game, but anyone who watched could see how one sided this game was. Dayton went inside a lot. And yet there was that big a discrepancy in Ft attempts?

Refs killed Dayton's momentum early on, and it cost them.

When things don't go the way you would like - blame the refs. While there were missed calls and bad calls in the game statistically the refs were pretty even handed.

UConn does not commit a lot of fouls. They are ranked
2nd in the NCAA averaging 11 per game. Last night they were called for 10. Dayton is ranked 317th in fouls committed averaging 16 per game. Last night they were called for 11, four below their season average. Seven in the 1st half and 9 in the 2nd.

What saw last night was an inspired team playing over their heads a bit (70% on 3 pt shots when they average 38%) and a UConn team that needed to make some defensive adjustments. UConn did that at halftime and Dayton shooting came back down to earth.
