Not sure how much interest in NASCAR Truck racing there is in VolNation, but I thought I'd make a thread for it to see if anyone else loves it as much as I do.

Series: NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
Race: NextEra Energy Resources 250
Track: Daytona Int'l Speedway
Date: February 13, 2009
Time: 7:30 pm est
TV: Speed Channel
Radio: Motor Racing Network (MRN)
Defending Race Winner: Todd Bodine

Lots of S&Ps in this. Lots of storylines.

The fact that there's only 10 full time teams scheduled to compete in all 25 races.
Johnny Benson in a new ride.
The new pitting rules.
Ricky Charmical debuts.
No matter how good the competition is it always is a great finish when the trucks are in Daytona.

Some of the best races I've ever seen at Atlanta were truck races. Man, I remember a 3 or 4 race stretch where they were neck and neck and/or wrecking as they came to the checkers.

Last season, I would rate the Truck Series the best racing in NASCAR as far as close finishes.

Good to see some interest in the series. I think it is week in and week out the best racing out there. Anyone remember the finish at Michigan last year? I literally didn't know who won that race until the announcers told me. Usually even in a close finish you can tell by the replays who had the slight advantage at the line, but not in that race! Awesome!!

No matter how good the competition is it always is a great finish when the trucks are in Daytona.You could have thrown a blanket over 2-12 coming to the finish line.

I agree 100%. Though the pitting rule confused me. I initially thought they made the rule change so that a team could only choose either tires or fuel when making their sole pitstop under a caution or green flag. But when they came down the second time to get what they didn't the first trip, I thought "And how is this any different from regular, except you just make two trips?" I guess the money saved is in the two pit crew positions cut and not actual supplies. Can't say I like it, but whatever it takes to keep the series going.

As for the race, it was a good one. I thought Bodine was a sitting duck on the last lap but for once that was not the case. Good to see him win with an unsponsored truck. We will probably see something on the hood next week in Cali.

Makes it a bit easier to win when you eliminate about a dozen top contenders.

Keep meaning to go up to the race. This year work is getting in the way again. Well, that and golf tomorrow. Daytona is only about an hour drive.

Daytona 500 is one Sunday/year, you can play golf almost any Sunday down there.

You should try entering the Top 5 Pick 'Em this year.
